What happens behind the scenes
Opening, searching, sorting, and selecting vendors reads vendor master data. It does not change vendor setup, AP, payments, or POs.
Adding a vendor creates a new active vendor record. Bulk upload can insert new vendors or update existing vendor codes depending on the file.
Vendor setup values such as currency, payment terms, default GL account, FOB, shipping method, account number, credit-card payment flag, and 1099 flag are used by later purchasing and payables workflows.
